Watersmeet, a National Trust property with a dramatic river gorge and tea gardens, is a picturesque 2½ mile walk from the Bungalow along the beautiful wooded riverside path of the East Lyn River.
The Bungalow directly overlooks the East Lyn River and all its wildlife. It is surrounded by the most beautiful walking, fishing and riding countryside, an ideal choice for nature lovers and those wishing to get away from it all. It is an ideal base for exploring North Devon and Exmoor. Famous beauty spots such as Lynmouth, Tarr Steps and Dunster Castle are just a short scenic drive away.
The Doone Valley and the wild moors and wooded coombes of Exmoor are all close by.
Weir Bungalow is situated within Exmoor National Park in the quiet and tranquil village of Brendon, near the twin coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmouth with their variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.
Brendon is a small village, nestling in the East Lyn Valley, between Oare (location of famous Lorna Doone novel) and Lynmouth.
The Staghunters Inn is just a short walk away. Good food and ales can be had there lunchtimes and evenings. A mile or so further along is the Rockford Inn, another excellent watering hole that serves good food and ales.
